After removing the broken nut with a New Concept Tools wrench, attach the broken nut valve wrench to a T-handle with a bolt and nut, then lower it into the valve box. The spring-loaded pipe wrench jaws slide around the valve stem and allow you to open or close the valve while standing at ground level by turning the wrench. The spring-loaded jaw is reversible, allowing operation of both open-right and open-left valves.
